This route begins at the Cheltenham Racecourse, from the profile you can see it’s rolling terrain for the first 19 miles, with a kick up at Snowshill in Broadway ending with a descent down Ham Hill in Cheltenham to finish off.
Fantastic route this is, gives you a chance to get your legs before the uphill. You pass through Bishops Cleeve, Gotherington, past the Prescott Hill climb centre onto the B4078 into Broadway. Always a popular stop this is for a coffee and a chat before the uphill that greets you in Snowshill (see climbs list).
As you come out of Broadway you have a gradual rise at first and then you can see the climb in front of you. At 3.64 miles long it’s one of the longest around up to Cutsdean Hill, with some inspiring scenery around and a particularly steep section as you go through the village of Snowshill. Rewarding once at the summit and then time to kick on along the top to Guiting Power, Whittington and down Ham Hill into Cheltenham.
A great route through stunning scenery and quaint Cotswold villages, with a kick up at Snowshill and a rapid down at Ham Hill along with rolling terrain this ride has something for everyone.
